Started in 2022, the Explore Plastic Surgery virtual event was created for medical students without a home residency program in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.
The 2026 Explore Plastic Surgery event will be announced closer to the event date.

This annual, half-day virtual event focuses on providing students with advice for applications, opportunities to network within the community, and informative lectures on various Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery topics. It consists of talks, panels, and small group networking sessions with faculty and residents (many of whom have matched from institutions without home programs).
The goal is to provide students with a greater understanding of the scope of plastic and reconstructive surgery and offer guidance on how to navigate the plastic surgery match without a home program. The event is targeted for students between their MS1 and MS3 years, but is beneficial for all students without a home program.
